2018 Recap- Photography & Personal

From shooting seniors to weddings, traveling from California to DC, moving homes to starting high school....2018 was quite the year. A year of new opportunities, triumph, failure (little emphasis on that one ;)), but most importantly... growth.

I don't want to get too wordy because my thing is storytelling through photography and not words (ha)....so here's my full photo recap of both my journey in photography and my personal life throughout 2018!

January:

First senior session! Cami, you're gorgg!

First wedding!

February:

Started '18 Senior season! All of my 2018 seniors were the sweetest people and it's been so fun watching them go through college this year!

Wedding Season!

March:

Closed on a new house and started renos:

Fast forward to June, July, and August:

The Gathering Event in Virginia (BLOG POST HERE):

DC is super close to where I was in Virginia so we stopped by!

One of my favorite stops in DC was the National Cathedral! It's absolutely gorgeous...when you see the cathedral, you almost feel like you've walked into Scotland in the middle of DC!

Trip to Waco + Austin!

Had to stop by Magnolia Table :)

Did a couple of shoots in Austin!

Lubbock Trip:

One of my cousins is getting her PhD at Texas Tech so we decided to visit Lubbock + Palo Duro Canyon while my other cousin was staying with us!

Cousin time!

I hosted a meet and greet event for my 2019 spokesmodel team in August! Y'all are going to see a ton from these gals in this post because they are AMAZING.

BTS!

Over the summer, my family drove 70 + hours to Lubbock, Austin, Virginia, DC, and tons of places in between (we almost NEVER fly places for some reason)...so for my last trip of the summer, I flew to San Francisco!

My baby cousin lives in SF so we stayed with my her, my uncle, and my aunt while we were there! Isn't their little family the cutest?

And OF COURSE I had to do an engagement session on the beach.

August-September:

Start of the school year...and engagement session season!

October-December:

State fair time! Hadn't been to the state fair in several years so it was fun to rediscover everything with friends!

October was a super super busy time for engagement and senior sessions so to take a little "break", I did a couple of just-for-fun/I-feel-creative shoots with friends where I was able to truly express myself through my camera- free from any expectations that I would've possibly had with clients. Here are a couple of favs from those shoots!

When it started sun-showering during this shoot...AHH it was beautiful.

Took a slightly different approach to this shoot but loved it just as much:

Spokesmodel Fall Styled Shoot with Happy Photo VW Bus and Erica Sarah Designs!

On another note...I finally finished furnishing + decorating most my room!

Spokesmodel solo styled shoots:

Each of my spokesmodels gets to have their own mini themed/styled shoot catered to their hobbies and/or style throughout the year! Here are the ones we've done in 2018.

December:

Winter break time!

Since I had a wedding to shoot in Tyler, my mom and I took a get-a-way trip to Pittsburg, Texas (Bet you've never heard of there before haha...we hadn't either! It's a quaint rural town in East Texas!) We finished of the year together staying in the cutest Bed & Breakfast cottage, biking around the countryside, and meeting some super super cute goats :)

Our cottage at night!

Bring it on, 2019!
